About Riverbase Counseling

Riverbase Counseling was created from a simple belief: our community deserves access to mental health care that meets people where they are.

In rural communities, seeking support can come with unique challenges. Distance, transportation, busy family schedules, school demands, and limited local resources can all make it difficult for children and families to access the care they need. Riverbase Counseling was created to help close that gap.

Our goal is to strengthen students, families, and our community from the inside out by making mental health services more accessible, connected, and rooted in the community we serve.

Through school-based counseling, Riverbase is able to be present in the school district every school day, meeting students where they already are. Being part of the school community allows us to build relationships, provide consistent support, and help students navigate the emotional, social, and behavioral challenges that can affect their ability to learn, connect, and thrive.

But supporting a child also means supporting the people and relationships surrounding them.

That is why Riverbase Counseling also provides family sessions through telehealth. When appropriate, we can connect with parents and caregivers from the comfort of home, creating an opportunity to work together on communication, relationships, parenting challenges, emotional regulation, and the many things families navigate outside of the school day.

We believe therapy should not feel like another obstacle to overcome. It should be accessible, compassionate, practical, and connected to real life.

Riverbase Counseling exists to help make that possible—to support the child sitting in a classroom, the parent trying to figure out what their child needs, and the family working to find its way forward together.
